By participating in Down East's Great Maine Scavenger Hunt, you confirm acceptance of these guidelines:

• HOW TO ENTER: Enter selfies using the online entry form. The photographs will be assessed by Down East‘s staff over the span of the contest. Hunt/category completors will receive prizes as listed on the contest landing page. Valid entry/submission as directed in the respective contest is subject to Down East Enterprise, Inc. [hereinafter called “Down East”] review and approval. Down East reserves the right to determine valid entries. The submission deadline is noted in the respective contest.
• USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: The personal information you furnish (such as name, email address, physical address, phone number, etc.) may be stored in our customer database for potential use in contacting you about subscription offers, email newsletters, and sales-related communications in the future. Furthermore, you consent to allow Down East to share your data with our sponsoring partners for their online communications. Should you prefer not to receive such communications, you have the freedom to opt out at any time. You can manage your preferences by updating them here or sending an email to online@downeast.com to request an opt-out.
• PRIZE: By accepting the prize, winners grant Down East permission for the use of their name and hometown in advertising, promotional, and publicity materials, without the need for additional compensation. In agreeing to the prize, the winner consents to release Down East, its directors, employees, officers, and agents, and sponsors—comprising, but not limited to, its advertising and promotion agencies—from any responsibility for liability, loss, or damages connected to the awarding, receipt, use, or misuse of the prize, or participation in any activities related to the prize. The winners are accountable for all tax obligations and income reporting.
• LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Down East and the contest sponsors cannot be held liable for damage or incomplete entries or notices. Furthermore, Down East reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest any time, for any reason or no reason at all, without recompense or recourse. You also accept responsibility for your own safety. You agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Down East, its agents and employees, and contest sponsors from any claim or proceeding resulting from your entry.
